The Cabin Group

The Cabin Group offers effective treatment for mental health, substance addictions, and process addictions such as sex, social media, gaming, gambling, as well as dual-diagnoses that include anxiety, depression, and trauma, and disordered eating. We have residential facilities and outpatient services across many countries, but our flagship addiction treatment and inpatient rehabilitation centre is The Cabin Chiang Mai, located in the foothills of Northern Thailand.

Since 2009, The Cabin has used evidence-based methods to help clients heal, by addressing not just their behaviours and symptoms, but also providing them with the professional care and essential tools required to tackle the root causes of their disorders and to achieve lasting recovery. We have successfully treated more than 7,000 clients suffering from addiction and mental health conditions from all parts of the world – a testament to the reputation we have earned of being called ‘the Betty Ford of Asia’ (August Man, 2015).

As Asia’s most respected addiction rehabilitation centre, we offer affordable, high-quality mental health and addiction treatment in an environment designed for recovery and growth. Our client’s privacy and anonymity are assured at our secure and secluded riverside facility with 30 beds. We have a long and proven track record of treatment completion and recovery rates that give us the confidence to offer a unique refund policy.

Our treatment approach consists of a modern, intelligent, and holistic treatment programme for which we are commended amongst the medical community globally. We provide clients with a comprehensive rehab experience paired with luxurious Thai hospitality, at a fraction of the costs of equivalent care in Western countries. We are certified under Healthcare Accreditation (HA) and licensed by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health.

Treatment at The Cabin is medically supervised from day one, with clients arriving to medical withdrawal supervision when needed, 24-hour nursing, and a clinical psychiatrist on site. Our organisation has the most clinically experienced counsellor team in Southeast Asia, with over 100 total years combined in addiction and mental healthcare practice. They are internationally licensed and treat up to a maximum of 4 clients each at our Chiang Mai site, ensuring consistent and personal care for every client.

With our flagship Changing Pathways programme, we combine a secularised adaptation of the 12 steps with a contemporary clinical focus on treating the underlying issues that cause addiction to substances such as alcohol, and drugs and processes such as sex or gambling. Our overall aim is to create lasting foundations for both a sound mind and body.

Medical Advisory Board

The Cabin is privately held by the members of our Medical Advisory Board – physicians, healthcare executives and health services researchers whose careers span Johns Hopkins Medicine, international hospital administration, health services research and addiction research. They do not work with clients directly; their role is to own the centre and set the clinical governance, quality standards and treatment philosophy our teams work to every day. Our board provides oversight and guidance for clinical operations and protocols to ensure we deliver consistent world-class care.

“The Cabin is an incredible place. From afar, the care and communication we received in respect of my brother was exceptional. If you are struggling with long-term addiction and mental health issues, this place will hold and support you; in addition, their accompanying family programme is brilliant and has been really helpful for us. This journey is not easy, but there is hope, and I will forever be grateful to The Cabin for getting us to this point so far. Thank you.”
