Secondary care at Recovery House is focused on empowering clients to take responsibility and accountability for their recovery, with a phased level of care and a holistic approach. They learn to provide one another with support, while still attending regular group therapy and one-on-one counselling sessions. The length of stay depends on the specific needs of each client but The Cabin recommends a 60-120 day programme for maximum effectiveness and success.
Clients take responsibility for their own recovery by participating in meditation sessions, recovery meetings and completing 12-step work and other assignments. They get involved in service activities, such as teaching English to novice monks and school children and helping at a dog rescue organisation. They can take Thai language lessons, join music, yoga and art classes and participate in physical activities including triathlon training, Muay Thai boxing, wall climbing, cycling, football, golf and team building exercises.
