Rory is a BACP registered Gestalt Psychotherapist and Counsellor who has qualified from University College, London and the Metanoia Institute of Psychotherapy. He is an APCB [Asia] registered Addiction Therapist and has trained in EMDR Therapy at the EMDR Institute
He has extensive managerial and clinical experience working with addiction in residential settings in the UK and Thailand. In the past, he has specialized in the treatment of co-occurring disorders. He has also worked as an interventionist with families affected by addiction. Previously, he developed a private practice in Devon treating the full spectrum of psychological issues.
His current focus is the development of an integrated treatment model at The Cabin, co-treating addiction and trauma disorders including PTSD. This model incorporates Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [CBT], Calibrated Exposure Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing [EMDR]
His own recovery from addiction offers an additional resource. Rory has remained continuously abstinent from all drugs and alcohol since 1988 and this remains the foundation of his life.
