Ken has been working in the field of addiction since 2007. He graduated with honours from Sprott-Shaw College in Vancouver, Canada, as a Community Support Worker in Social Services. He is a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor and certified Substance Abuse Therapist (level II). His post graduate training included non-violent conflict resolution, as well as suicide awareness and prevention.
Before coming to The Cabin in 2011, Ken worked in mental health and with at-risk youth. He is well trained and experienced in working with challenging clients as he offers compassion and empathy. Over the years he has mentored and sponsored many addicts seeking recovery. He previously worked at the Sober House to facilitate groups as well as 1 to 1 sessions with clients. He is able to share his own experience in recovery and shows passion in helping others.
