Alexandria’s career in the field of addiction recovery began with her internship at the renowned treatment centre Tharagay House in South Africa. Tharagay was the first residential treatment centre to open in South Africa 20 years ago. Alexandria was employed as a full-time counsellor at Tharagay. Whilst there, she studied at The South African College of Applied Psychology for 3 years and qualified with a Diploma in Certified Counselling and Communications. Having spent 6 years in South Africa, she returned to the UK to become a Senior Therapist at Castle Craig Hospital.
Alexandria’s passion for addiction recovery led her to continue her studies into process addictions, particularly gambling, and on completion of her certification she facilitated the gambling group and worked with gambling addicts in one-to-one sessions.
Alexandria studied developing her therapeutic knowledge and skills and passed the IC&RC, FIT Programme (Hazelden) and is a member of BACP. She is also a qualified supervisor and has been practicing counselling for nearly a decade. Alexandria brought with her a wealth of experience to The Cabin Chiang Mai when she joined the team in 2018.
