Ice Epidemic

Focus: Is Australia’s “Ice Epidemic” Hyped out of Proportion?
by Cameron Brown, Clinical Director of The Cabin Sydney

The harms that Australia’s current “Ice epidemic” are causing to society are no more dire than Heroin in its heyday, and less lethal than the consequences of alcohol abuse. But scaremongering tactics and inappropriate distribution of funds may only serve to exacerbate the situation. read more

In the Spotlight

The Cabin Singapore

Outpatient addiction treatment now available at The Cabin Singapore

Last month, we opened our fourth specialist clinic or intensive outpatient programme (IOP) in Singapore. Like our other centres in Hong Kong, Sydney and Bangkok, we hope The Cabin Singapore is a solution for all the people struggling with addiction, who have never thought to seek treatment simply because they feel their ability to function in other areas of life, like at work or school, means they do not have a real problem. Addiction is an illness, which gets more severe with time.

At our clinic in the Novena Medical Center, we offer a range of treatments to address addiction at all stages from early intervention and motivational interviewing to continuing care. Clients can access after-work-hours treatment programmes in a secure environment or schedule private therapy sessions at a time most convenient for them.

Alumni Update

Though over 1,400 clients have successfully completed treatment with us since we began operations in 2010, we try to stay in touch with all of them and follow their progress. When a client leaves The Cabin Chiang Mai they are just embarking on their journey of recovery, certain to be filled with challenges and temptations as they begin their new life back home. Here we’d like to share some updates from our alumni.
