Alumni Update: My Reflections
My journey here at The Cabin for the last two months has been a life changing one; it has made me realize the true meaning/purpose of life and at the same time enlightened me to see how much more one can archive without the use of drugs, alcohol and gambling. For the last 14 years my disease has been destroying me slowly and painfully taking me to some very dark places that I will never be able to erase off my mind; not only did I lose all the money I ever earned but I almost lost my family and even my own life before coming to The Cabin. This place has shown me the new meaning and purposes life without the use of drugs, alcohol and gambling; by understanding the nature of my disease which is a primary, progressive and chronic one I feel much more equipped and ready to tackle it and overcome it. For the first time in my life I feel so free, for the first time in my life I feel like I am not carrying the heavy baggage on me. This has truly been a magnificent life changing experience for me; thank you Cabin and especially Tony for giving me this new lease on life; the memories of my experience here will last me a lifetime. For the first time in my life I feel so free, for the first time in my life I feel like I am not carrying the heavy baggage on me.
