Location

Amazing Thailand has been one of the world’s most popular travel destinations for the past thirty years, located centrally and strategically at the crossroads of Asia. Famous for its Buddhist spirituality, temples dating back thousands of years, breathtaking tropical scenery, shopping value and extraordinary hospitality, it is a natural place to begin your recovery.

The capital, Bangkok, is served by over 80 airlines from all corners of the world, including the USA, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh and China.

The northern capital of Chiang Mai is 700 kilometers (1 hour flight) north of Bangkok, and is a gateway to the countries of IndoChina (such as Laos, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam and China).

Chiang Mai is served by many domestic and international carriers, with daily direct flights from key Asian cities such as Singapore (3 hour flight), Kuala Lumpur (2 hour flight), Bangkok, and Phuket.

The province of Chiang Mai is characterized by nature: rolling green hills, gushing rivers, and elephants. There are also many fascinating hill-tribes who have migrated from southern China and Burma over the generations.

The city of Chiang Mai is a popular tourist hub which is big enough to be called a city yet small enough to feel like an overgrown country town. It is a charming ancient city (dating back to the Lanna Kingdom in the 1200s) yet full of modern medical facilities and universities, laid-back cafes, bookshops, art galleries, cooking schools, massage courses, and a burgeoning live music scene. There is creativity and inspiration at nearly every turn. A great place to achieve a positive and productive mindset.

Chiang Mai is also a popular adventure tourism destination, with white-water rafting, elephant treks, mountain biking, and jungle canopy zipwire adventures on offer. So you will be able to show your friends amazing photographs of your action-packed ‘holiday’ when you return looking (and feeling) happy, healthy and reinvigorated.

Chiang Mai is the ‘cool’ capital of Northern Thailand, away from the hot and sweaty beach and city destinations of the south. It enjoys a summer, winter and wet season, although the climate can be described as agreeably temperate year-round.

The Cabin’s Location:

Even most locals in Chiang Mai have no idea where The Cabin is situated, such is our discreet location 15 kilometers outside of the city (no signs, no indication of what lies within our walls). No-one around will recognize you as you recover. And you are far from the usual tempting triggers of your addictive habits.

Chiang Mai gives you the distance, literally and figuratively, to change your perspective of your current lifestyle, and view yourself anew.

The Cabin could be mistaken for yet another of Chiang Mai’s upmarket Lanna-style boutique resorts, with our teak-wood cabins amid lush lawns and sprawling trees, blooming gardens, quiet corners, and swimming pool. Birds singing in the trees might be the loudest sound you hear all day. As you sit on your balcony, you can also enjoy picture-postcard views of Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai’s mountain backdrop.

And running right past the front of our center is the Ping River, ‘The River of Recovery’ as we like to call it.

Very few of the best hotels and top apartments in Chiang Mai can boast simultaneous views of both river and mountain like we have.

So The Cabin Chiang Mai puts you in a very special place mentally and physically.
